Targeting RNA with Small Molecules and Lovin' It
Welcome! We are located in the Department of Chemistry at the Scripps Research Institute in Jupiter, Florida. Our laboratory is interested in the Chemical Biology of RNA. These research efforts require skills in organic synthesis, biophysical chemistry, molecular biology, and medicinal chemistry. Specific research interests are currently focused on developing an understanding of how to target RNA with small molecules.
We are applying the results of these studies towards treating a variety of diseases that are mediated by RNA, including Sickle Cell Disease and Inherited Breast Cancer. Additionally, we are designing and testing new antibacterials that evade known modes of antibiotic resistance. We always are interested in having new talented and driven co-workers join our research group. Interested parties should contact Prof. Disney (disney at scripps.edu) via email or preferably post.
