Mr. Everyman Buys Coal

Professor Laurel Thatcher Ulrich (b.1938), professor of history at Harvard, MacArthur Fellow, winner of the Pulitzer Prize and an active Mormon, was president of the American Historical Association in 2009.  In September 2009, she wrote a column in the AHA magazine, Perspectives on History about what happens in 1931 when Mr. Everyman Buys Coal.
