There is a lot of fish imagery in early Christianity, which seemed to be linked to and confirmed by the astronomical changes of that period as the world moved into the "Age of Pisces", a reference to the astrological sign seen behind the sun when it sets on the first day of Spring. The "Book of Nature" seemed to confirm the "Book of Scripture". As the astrological signs move backwards every two thousand years or so, due to a wobble in the solar system, we are now about to enter the "Age of Aquarius", a "New Age". The idea of an "Age of Aquarius" entered the popular consciousness thanks to the 1967 musical Hair, with its opening song "Aquarius". The song was a huge hit in 1969 in the version sung by The 5th Dimension: Marilyn McCoo and Billy Davis, Jr have been married since 1969 and are still going strong, even without the other three Dimensions: |
