Civil War Procession & Honoring Ceremony

To honor the 150th Anniversary of the Civil War, the Seymour Library Programs concluded on Saturday, May 10, 2014 at 1:00 pm Procession: From the Seymour Library to High St Cemetery. The procession started from Seymour Library (161 East Ave, Brockport) west on East Ave; south Fayette St; continuing south on Park Ave; east on High St, to  the High St Cemetery. 

The procession consisted of local residents, drummers, fifers, musicians, and reenactors representing 108th NY and 34th NC regiments. The ceremonies at the Cemetery include: placing flags and flowers at the graves of the soldiers who died in the Civil War; playing of taps and a firing of muskets to salute the soldiers; reading of the Gettysburg Address.
