Optimist International is one of the world’s largest service club organizations with 120,000 adult and youth members in 3,800 clubs in the United States, Canada, the Caribbean and Mexico and throughout the world. Carrying the motto “Bringing Out the Best in Kids,” Optimists conduct positive service projects that reach more than six million young people each year.

Our motto is “Bringing Out the Best in Kids”.

The Prior Lake- Savage Optimist Club was founded in September of 1978. Optimist Clubs are serious about "Bringing Out the Best in Kids" and do their part through community service programs.  Since each Club is autonomous and run by members in their community, Optimists have the unique flexibility to serve the youth of their community in any way they see fit.  Optimist Clubs see a need in their community and react to it.

Through Charitable gambling Prior Lake Optimists raise money to donate to local charities and clubs.  Each year we give approximately $40,000 to the community.

The PLOC has fun also!  We have a game night in the winter, “Mystery Evening” each spring, and an annual party in the fall . The picture shown below is from our March Game night!

Our meetings consist of part business and part learning by having guest speakers from the other charitable groups in our area tell us what they are doing and how we may help them meet their goals.

We also support our local law enforcement with our annual Respect for Law award.
