Troubleshooter of Error: Activated Windows Media Center, computer becomes unusable

Activated Windows Media Center, computer becomes unusable

After activating Windows Media Center for the first time my computer froze then crashed.  When I turned it back on it went through the system restore processes.  Now, I receive these error messages when the computer turns on:

mswinext.exe - Bad Image
C:\Windows\system32\pdh.dll is either not designed to run on Windows or it contains an error.  Try installing the program again using the original installation media or contact your system administrator or the software vendor for this product.

MOM.exe - Bad Image
C:\Windows\WinSxS\amd64_microsoft.vc80.crt_1fc8b3b9a1e18e3b_8.0.50727.4927_none_88dce9872fb18caf\MSVCR80.dll is either not designed to run on Windows or it contains an error.  Try installing the program again using the original installation media or contact
your system administrator or the software vendor for this product.

ActiveUIComponentStoreSyncWindow:  PictureMover.exe - Bad Image
C:\Windows\SysWOW64\msjet40.dll is either not designed to run on Windows or it contains an error.  Try installing the program again using the original installation media or contact your system administrator or the software vendor for this product.

StartMenu.exe - Bad Image
C:\Windows\system32\d3d10_1core.dll is either not designed to run on Windows or it contains an error.  Try installing the program again using the original installation media or contact your system administrator or the software vendor for this product.

Besides these, I receive a "Windows Explorer has stopped working" message, followed by "Windows Explorer is restarting" message every few seconds.  I am unable to navigate through anything as this happens and after the restart message it closes anything I have
open besides my Internet browser (meaning, it shuts down my Control Panel window so I cannot access any of the options).  Ending the process does not work and I am unable to activate another system restore.

Update 1:
I have tried "reintalling" PictureMover as the error message stated (though I don't remember ever putting this program on my computer to begin with) and the problem still persists.  I get an error message that the database is corrupt and to reinstall.  The
Windows Explorer starting and stopping is continuing.

I also tried to install Ubuntu so I can work out this problem without going through Windows Explorer but because of the issues it is having the installation isn't working correctly.
