cheap whole wheat banana bread with flax seed meal

       Preheat oven 350

  • 1 cup of whole wheat
  • 3/4 cup of white flour
  • 3/4 cup of flax seed meal
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/3 cup of oil *
  • 3/4 cup of sugar
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp sea salt
  • 3 very ripe bananas

Assemble the wet ingredients and the dry ingredients and then add the wet to the dry. Mix by hand.  It will be stiff.  

Spoon it in the loaf pan - add the topping and press it down, on top of the bread. 

Bake at 350 for about 55-60 minutes

* you could add applesauce in place of oil


1/2 chopped walnuts

1/2 tsp cinnamon

1/4 cup of brown sugar
