Welcome to Princess Katie Books!

About the Author

Katie Scarlett Pryor was born on October 14, 2007. She wrote, illustrated, and published her first two books, Princess Katie and the Fairy Tea Party, and Princess Katie and the Mermaid Lagoon when she was only 8 years old in 2016. She went on to publish Princess Katie and the Kitty Club, and Princess Katie and the Sweet Shop when she was 9 years old in 2017. She is currently working on her fifth book. They are all sweet stories with beautiful pictures and messages.

Katie loves writing, coloring, playing with dolls, baking, gymnastics, and wearing her hair in pigtails. Above all, she loves to play with other little girls. Since Katie has 2 brothers and no sisters, she is lucky to have several neighbor girls to play with. Katie's stories include many of her real-life friends, neighbors, and cousins. Katie's favorite colors are pink and aqua. Just like her pink castle in the books, Katie has a pink castle at home made from a refrigerator box.

About the Books

Once upon a time there was a princess named Katie. She lived in a pink castle in Rainbow Valley with her pets, Cuddle Puppy and Cupcake Kitty. She also had two pink fish named Rosie and Shimmer.....

Princess Katie and the Fairy Tea Party

This is Katie's first book. She wrote and illustrated it when she was 8 years old after a fun summer of playing princesses, mermaids, and fairies with her neighbor friend Ella. In this story, Princess Katie and Princess Ella want to have a tea party with princesses, mermaids, and fairies. The only problem is that they don't know any mermaids or fairies to invite. While chasing a butterfly that stole an invitation, the girls serendipitously meet the new friends that they were hoping for. This book is about forgiveness, being kind, and including others. Here is a picture of Katie coloring a picture from the book.

Princess Katie and the Mermaid Lagoon

This is Katie's second book. She wrote it because she and her friends love to pretend to be mermaids. In this story, Katie goes with her friend Mermaid Mollly to visit Mermaid Lagoon. At Mermaid Lagoon, Katie meets new friends, swims with the mermaids, collects beautiful sea shells, finds treasure, and helps rescue a dolphin! This book is about helping others and not being selfish. Here is a picture from the book when the girls are collecting sea shells in Coral Cove.

Princess Katie and the Kitty Club

This is Katie's third book. In this story, Princess Katie finds a lost little white kitten in Butterfly Meadow. Katie tries to find the kitten's owner but ends up falling in love with the kitten herself. This story is about doing the right thing even when it is difficult. Here is a picture from the book when the little white kitten, Cupcake Kitty, and Cuddle Puppy all jump into the bathtub with Katie!

Katie wrote this story because she dreams of having her own little white kitten. Unfortunately, her mother and brother are allergic to cats. For now, Katie has a plush little white kitten that she sleeps with.

Princess Katie and the Sweet Shop

This is Katie's fourth book. In this mostly true story, Princess Katie gets diagnosed with celiac disease and decides to start her own gluten-free bakery. However, baking is harder than Katie thought. She gets frustrated and wants to quit. This book is about working hard and not giving up even when things get tough. Here is a picture from the book when Katie is having a hard time baking. Her kitchen is a mess!

In real life, Katie got diagnosed with celiac disease when she was 7 years old and plans to start her own gluten-free bakery someday. Until then, she pretends her playhouse tower is her Sweet Shop bakery. Katie does a lot of baking and put her favorite gluten-free recipes in the back of the book. You can also find some of her recipes on this page of her website.
