A Brief History...

This site is designed to be an electronic portfolio highlighting the career of art teacher, Michele Nelson.

Michele Nelson is a Nationally Board Certified Teacher, currently working as an art teacher  for Chapel Hill-Carrboro Schools at Estes Hills Elementary School. Michele also teaches The Art of Photography for the North Carolina Virtual Public School, in conjunction with the North Carolina Museum of Art. In addition to teaching, Michele has worked with a course development team  (a collaborative venture between NCVPS and the North Carolina Museum of Art) to write curriculum for an online class on the Renaissance & Video Editing. Michele was involved with the North Carolina Museum of Art , once again, participating in a "Think Tank" for the NCVPS Art of Photography/Digital Photography course revision, Spring 2012.

Michele graduated, magna cum laude, from the University of North Carolina @ Greensboro, with a Bachelors Degree of Fine Arts (BFA).

Ms. Nelson holds a Masters Degree of Arts in Education (MAEd) from East Carolina University. She works as a free-lance portrait artist and painter, in addition to teaching. Michele resides in Pittsboro, NC with her two lovely children.
