You have reached the Pride of Portage Marching Band website.  The Pride of Portage is an ISSMA (Indiana
State School Music Association) Open Class A marching band from Portage Indiana.  Portage is located right under Lake Michigan and is about 45 minutes South-East of Chicago Illinois and three and a half hours North-West of Indianapolis Indiana.  The main site for the Portage High School Band Department can be found here

The Pride of Portage Marching band competes in ISSMA (Indiana State School Music Association) and festival marching competitions five weekends out of the fall season.  Festival Marching competitions change from year to year but typically include locations such as, Concord Indiana, Mishawaka Indiana and Indianapolis Indiana.  In addition to marching competition the Pride of Portage Band also performs at every home football game and participates in the Memorial Day, Homecoming and 4th of July parades in Ogden Dunes and Portage Indiana.

The Portage Township Schools include 8 Elementary Schools, 2 Middle Schools and 1 High School.  Total student population for the Portage Township Schools typically a little more than 8,000 students with the high school typically containing close to 2,500 students.  Students start band in 6th grade in split classes and then move to full class instruction by 8th grade.  The high school has 3 different band classes, the Beginning, Intermediate and Advanced Bands as well as Music Theory I and II, Music History, Music Technology and several sections of Piano Lab.  The directors, email addresses and general information can be found under the Staff page.

If you need to drop off or pick up a band member, the band room entrance is door T, however door U can sometimes also be used.  If there is a performance in the Portage High School East Auditorium, students can be dropped off at door T, parents can enter door A.
