The Golden Age

Books
Books are a great resource for all academic research. You can be assured that the information you find is books is accurate which is pretty important! I have pre-selected books regarding the topics you are covering and they are on display in the library. There may be additional titles in the catalog.
  • BELS- the school library catalog offers materials available from the Park Ridge school library and 38 other school libraries. Once exhausting your search of the PR school library don't forget to expand your search to other libraries. To request books from other libraries you must be logged into Destiny. Once you have found the book, make sure you are in the book record (not the results page) and hit the "Hold it" button. Your requested items should arrive in approximately 1 week.

Databases
Databases are another resource you can trust without evaluating. The following will be useful for this project:
  • ABC-CLIO - Daily Life Through History ---> Topics --->Life in the Ancient World, 10,000 BCE - 500 CE
  • Facts on File - Ancient and Medieval History Online
Points to remember:
  • Databases are paid subscriptions; if you are not on school grounds you will need a username and password which can be found in your planner.
  • Do not copy URL's they will not work when you paste them in a later time.
  • All PR databases have citation information.
Webpages
If you use sources found on the internet you must evaluate before you decide to use the information. The following websites have been evaluated and pre approved for you:
Citations
To avoid plagiarism you must include citations!

Remember- the library is open after school till 3:30 if you need a space to work or get some research assistance!
