How To Get Involved

It is vitally important for Giles residents to stay informed and arm themselves with information about the MVP. We need to educate ourselves and one another about the dangers of pipelines, fracking dangers, the threat to property values, current news and legislation, and other important issues. Contacting FERC, as well as our state and federal representatives, is important in making our voices heard.

Use the links below to learn how to get started and stay informed:

POLITICAL ACTION -- things we can do such as writing letters to FERC (Federal Energy Regulatory Commission), educating ourselves on issues such as fracking and gas pipelines, contacting state and federal representatives, contacting newspapers, and sending personal photos and statements.

We have a short how-to list of guidelines for composing letters to FERC -- DOWNLOAD.

STAY INFORMED AND SHARE INFORMATION - Check this site for information resources as well as frequent updates about local events. In addition, contact Preserve the NRV, get updates and share your experiences with pipeline representatives, surveyors, etc.

ALLIANCES AND COALITIONS - This is a list of coalitions engaged in fighting fracking and natural gas pipelines.  Visit their sites often.  The more we know the stronger we will become.  We’re all in this together, so there is a wealth of information to be gleaned from others engaged in the same struggle.
