At precious feathers we feed a variety of foods.
Fresh veggies and fruit are given to all birds daily! We also give frozen and
thawed veggies, brown rice, whole wheat pasta, nuts such as brazil nuts,
walnuts, almonds, pecans. I also give sprouts on occasion and when weaning
babies. I also make up a bean mix, lentil mix and grain mix, freeze then thaw
when needed two or three times a week alternating them. We also provide Zupreem
fruit pellets and seed mix at all times.
Some of the veggies we offer are peas, corn,
carrots, broccoli, snap peas, spinach, romaine lettuce, cucumber, peppers (all
colours) and some fruits may include, apples, oranges, pineapple, bananas,
grapes, kiwis, mangos, different melons, blueberries, strawberries or whatever
is in season. These are just to name some of the fresh foods we feed. I can't
think of them all as there are so many!
If you have any questions on how to make any of our
mixes, such as bean mix, lentil mix or grain mix just e-mail me and I would be
happy to help! I would also recommend The Healthy Bird Cookbook by Robin
Deutsch. Please offer your Precious Feathered baby a variety of foods...just
pellets...or just seed would be so boring and not healthy! It will also keep
your bird entertained and happy!
