Details: George was sent to Australia as a convict aged 19 yrs. He was born at Dundee. In Australia he trained as a ships captain and became master of Berry's boat 'Union',  He traded between the West Coast of  N.Z. and Australia in flax and muskets,and other trade goods useful to Maori at the time. He married a Maori princess at Kawhia and they had five children, one born here and four in Australia. He died in heavy weather of the coast of Sydney in 1846, with all lives lost.
