Details: Octavius Harwood was a storekeeper for Weller Bros of Sydney at their whaling establishment in Otago Harbour in 1838. He married Titapu, who died in May 1842.
Harwood arrived in Sydney by the 'City of Edinburgh' in 1837. Captain Edward Catlin talked to him about Otago and so Octavius joined Weller Brother's in Otago about April 1838. He kept a journal which is one of the few resources left from that period. He leaves on the 4th of Jul 1842.
