Details: John Hayes (Honi Heihi), lived at Omaewa near Port Awanui with another Pakeha named Ropiha, (possible Robson). Tamati Porourangi built a store for them. In the 1850's he was living at Reporua and had two sons, John and Pene (Ben or Kairakau) who were half-brothers.
