Dr. Belinda Yuen is a Chartered Town Planner. She has been President, Singapore Institute of Planners (2005-2008) and Vice President, Commonwealth Association of Planners (Southeast Asia, (2006-2008; 2010-2012). Dr. Yuen has extensive planning and research experience including evaluation of international research programs. Her research is in the discipline of urban planning, most recently, on planning livable and sustainable cities. She has served on various Singapore planning committees including as Planning Appeals Inspector, Master Plan 2003, Concept Plan 2011 and Singapore Green Plan 2012. Belinda is on the Editorial Board of Asia Pacific Planning Review, Cities, Journal of Comparative Asian Development, Journal of Planning History and Regional Development Studies, among others. She has been invited by the Prime Minister’s Court, Kingdom of Bahrain as Juror of international sustainable development award. She has carried out consultancy work on eco-city, master planning, planning studies including as project leader for the private sector, public and international agencies, and principal among them, the United Nations, Asian Development Bank and The World Bank.
