Welcome back to another great year of Cardinal Athletics!
The Pleasant Plains Athletic Booster Club (PPABC) leadership team has been meeting all summer to bring you great new merchandise and to prepare for the upcoming sports seasons. We continue to work to bring new ideas and new faces to the PPABC table. Please consider attending our monthly meetings and becoming more involved with your Club.
The PPABC has held the line on membership dues again this year. Please start this year by becoming a member of the PPABC. Membership dues form the base for each year’s uniform budget. As a special thank you, PPABC members are granted free admission to all regular season home contests but the true impact of your dues is to support the teams. You will find a membership application in this packet.
Last year new uniforms were purchased for the football team by PPABC. In the 2015-16 school year the following teams will be wearing new uniforms: high school softball, middle school baseball, high and middle school running sports and high and middle school cheer squads. Remember each team gets their turn for new uniforms every four years. The PPABC budgets approximately $18,000 per year to meet these needs.
Our new merchandise offerings are included in this newsletter. As in past years, sport specific items will be sold by the individual teams. PPABC will focus on universal designs. You may purchase your gear at many special events throughout the year as well as using the order form attached. We will have many items available cash and carry as well as some that must be pre-ordered. We continue to improve our selections based on input from our shoppers!
While membership dues and merchandise sales help to support the teams, our greatest revenue source is the concession stand. Everyone big and small can help here. Say YES when you are asked to sign up for a concession shift. You will win by meeting new people in our community while supporting the teams.
There are so many opportunities for involvement in PPABC. How do you want to help? Will you be a team parent, responsible for scheduling concession volunteers? Are you a merchandising genius? What new idea do you want to introduce? How can you help PPABC grow? What is our next big project?
PPABC regular meetings are held at 7 pm, the second Tuesday of each month in the MS library. Watch the district calendar for specific dates.
