To return to the Protraits site click here Patrick has been painting portraits for the last 10 years employing various painterly techniques. His works are mainly in oil on canvas. Patrick’s artistic career started while at University in the 1970's, where he was an early member of Photo Forum. His works included photographic essays for the NZ Health Department, Te Maori Magazine and Cracuum. His creative photographic portraits were also sought after for a wide range of commissions.
The demands of a career and family brought about a break in Patrick's formal artistic pursuits. He has now returned to art this time as a narrative figurative/portrait painter. "The medium of painting enables me to convey the personality of and tell the story of the individual. Painting also allows me free reign to be expressive and opens the opportunity to change and combine tonal effects and experiment with colour, line and form."
He now splits his time between New Zealand and Australia.
