Why It Happens


The most common explanation why slab leaks occur is the reaction that happens within pipes located below the flooring of a house. This could be due to pipe contact with concrete, or electrolysis between copper and granite. Surplus of soldering flux and non-reamed pipes may also cause this.


Poorly assembled pipes and fittings could also lead to slab leaks, as well as pipe rust. Ground movement, pipe rust, and sewer leaks are other conditions that can contribute to the development of slab leaks.
