Seymour Mann

Seymour  Mann was a leading importer of decorative collectibles and giftware in the US for more than 50 years.  His wife Eda, a well-known artist did the designing and set Mann's imports apart from others.  Mann founded his first venture in 1946.  He is probably best known for his Connoisseur Doll Collection, introduced in the early 1980s. Mann remained active in the Seymour Mann Inc. business operations until his death in 2004.

Mann's music boxes are exquisitely designed and are high quality porcelain.  I am offering a number of Mann music boxes for sale through my e-store,  Porcelain Melodies .

This Cat on a Log is one of my favorites.  It plays "Waltz of the Flowers." Unlike the others I have, this one has a high-gloss glazed finish.

Another of my favorites is the Kitten with the Teacup.  This was created for Mann in 1982.  It has a bisque finish.  It plays "Memories" (theme from CATS) and measures 5.25 x 5 inches.

I also have a beautiful Red Bird music box designed by Eda Mann and a dainty Butterly on Flowers from the Mann Collection.

This  Red Bird music box has a bisque finish, was designed in 1981, and plays the love theme from the Godfather, "Speak Softly Love." As a bonus for purchasing this item, I am including a matching red bird figurine.

If you prefer a smaller music box, Mann's "Butterfly on Flowers" is just what you want. It measures 3" by 2."  Because of its size, the melody is much softer.  But, its  meoldy  "Speak Softly Love" will still delight you.

Perhaps you would prefer a winsome clown.  This little girl clown is a perfect example of the artistry of Mann's music boxes.  I call her "Shirley" in honor of the lady who sold her to me.   Shirley was created for Mann in 1979.  She has been well cared for and still is in like new condition.   Appropriately, she plays "Send in the Clowns."
