ALTAR FLOWERS  today  are given to the glory of God by Seanna Riedemann in honor of Walter’s 85th birthday.

GOURMANDS will meet at 5:30 pm on Thurs., April 6 at Hi View Restaurant, 425 W. St. Charles Rd., Villa Park.  Parking is in the rear of the strip mall.  To make a reservation, call Mary Lou Larson.

BOOK CLUB  Me Before You is a love story and a family story, but above all it’s a story of the bravery and sustained effort needed to redirect the path of a life once it’s been pushed off course.  Louisa (Lou) Clark, a 26-year-old working-class girl, lands a position as a “care assistant” to an intelligent, wealthy and very angry 35-year-old man who has spent the past two years as a quadriplegic after being hit by a motorbike.  Lou refuses to treat him with kid gloves, and soon his happiness means more to her than she expected.  Please join us as we evaluate and discuss Jojo Moyes’ poignant novel on Mon., Mar. 27, at 7 PM in the church library.

LENTEN SOUP SUPPERS - each Wed. through Lent at 6:00 pm.  Bring a crockpot of your favorite soup or bring bread or dessert and join us for supper and worship as we prepare ourselves for the events of Holy Week.  If you can’t bring anything, come anyway.

IT’S TIME TO “drop your drawers” at church again! Up thru April 9th, we will be collecting new underwear and socks to be donated to World Relief in Wheaton. Not sure of sizes? Donate in your size as the need for these items knows no gender or age group.

LAST DAY TO ORDER EASTER FLOWERS   Use the yellow insert to order flowers to beautify the chancel for Easter Sunday.  This year you can choose a variety of flowers, each for the same low price of $8.00.  Be sure to indicate which kind you want and how many of each.  Flowers can be picked up on Easter after whichever service you attend.

FIRST COMMUNION  Anyone interested in receiving 1st communion instruction please see Pastor J.T.

LOTS OF VOLUNTEERS NEEDED ON SAT., APRIL 8TH   That’s the day we will do spring clean up around the church from 6 am to noon (or any time you can spare).  If you can’t stay for the whole time, at least come for an hour or two.

On the same day, April 8th, we will be canvassing the neighborhood with door hangers.  You don’t have to talk to anybody (unless you want to), just hang some information on their door.  What information?  Times of Easter services and Easter breakfast and an invitation to join us.

PROJECT GAMBIA.  Now you can help support Project Gambia by placing an order with Schwan’s starting Wed., March 1.  The 45-day campaign is listed under the Missions, Faith & Church category as Project Gambia (ID #31607).  You can order by phone (1-888-724-9267) or online at  For detailed instructions pick up a pink sheet from the main bulletin board or contact Barb Pourch at or at  630-893-8248.  Note that Schwan’s offers food for special diets, such as low-sodium and gluten-free, in addition to their regular entree, breakfast and dessert items, all of which are delivered directly to customers’ homes.
