~ A dedication of love and remembrance ~

"Cats are like music. It's foolish to try to explain their worth to those who don't appreciate them." ~ Anon.

~~~
For your gentle soul, your patient ways, the thousand face rubs & soft love nips to our cheeks you gave us, ~ we miss you dearly, sweet one.
"An angel came to me one day, A ball of fur in hand.
The angel gave the ball to me,
As we stood there in the sand.
She said to me, "It's just a loan,
For only a short time."
And she would surely return one day,
For the ball of fur wasn't mine.
I looked down at the ball of fur,
Two eyes stared back at me.
I fell in love upon that day,
As I held it close to me.
Years went by and my love grew,
As close friends we became.
I looked down at my ball of fur,
Life was never again the same.
No matter where I found myself, My friend would be there, too.
Then one day the angel came, I didn’t know what to do.
She said that now the time had come,
To take my friend back home.
I watched her leave with tear-filled eyes,
As I remembered “It's just a loan.”
~  Hoyt Northcutt
"Cats are a mysterious kind of folk. There is more passing in their minds than we are aware of." ~ Sir Walter Scott
"The cat laps moonbeams in the bowl of water, thinking them to be milk."
"When you come upon your cat, deep in meditation, staring thoughtfully at something that you can't see, just remember that your cat is, in fact, running the universe."
~ Bonni Elizzaeth Hall
She Is Gone
You can shed tears that she is gone,
Or you can smile because she lived,
You can close your eyes and pray that she will come back,
Or you can open your eyes and see all that she has left.
Your heart can be empty because you can't see her
Or you can be full of the love that you shared,
You can turn your back on tomorrow and live yesterday,
Or you can be happy for tomorrow because of yesterday.
You can remember her and only that she is gone
Or you can cherish her memory and let it live on,
You can cry and close your mind, be empty and turn your back,
Or you can do what she would want: smile, open your eyes, love, and go on.
~~~~~~~

With special thanks to Anthony

Sakal, D.V.M., for his dedication,

skill, and love for our Lily

throughout her 14 years, and to

Jodie Smith, D.V.M., who tended

and cared for Lily during her last

months with us and

helped us through Lily's

crossing over the Rainbow

Bridge.

Lily passed as she had lived, ~

secure in her home, hearing our

voices, and being held in our

arms.

We know in our hearts that

Briquette was waiting to greet

you on the other Side.

Briquette

March 25, 1992 - March 16, 2008

To our silver-gray "gentle giant",  ~ may calm and sweetness surround you always :)

"A cat's eyes are windows enabling us to see into another world."

~~~~
Gentle eyes that see so much,
paws that have the quiet touch,
Purrs to signal "all is well"
and show more love than words could tell.
Graceful movements touched with pride,
a calming presence by our side
A friendship that takes time to grow
Small wonder why we love them so.
"By associating with the cat one only risks becoming richer." - Colette
 "I love cats because I enjoy my home; and little by little, they become its visible soul." ~ Jean Cocteau
 "The cat is the animal to whom the Creator gave the biggest eye, the softest fur, the most supremely delicate nostrils, a mobile ear, an unrivaled paw and a curved claw borrowed from the rose-tree." ~ Sidonie Gabrielle Colette
 "There is nothing sweeter than his peace when at rest, for there is nothing brisker than his life when in motion." ~ Christopher Smart
 "Of all domestic animals the cat is the most expressive. His face is capable of showing a wide range of expressions. His tail is a mirror of his mind. His gracefulness is surpassed only by his agility. And, along with all these, he has a sense of humor." ~ Walter Chandoha
