Locally, Point Defiance AAZK is directly affiliated with Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium - a zoological facility under the umbrella of Metropolitan Parks District of Tacoma, the Zoo Society - a not for profit group supporting Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium, and Northwest Trek - our sister facility under Metro Parks.

Point Defiance AAZK also associates ourselves with Rainier AAZK, the AAZK chapter of Northwest Trek, as well as Puget Sound AAZK, the AAZK chapter of Woodland Park Zoo in Seattle. The Point Defiance AAZK chapter was also the start of the Clouded Leopard Project, a non-profit created by our keepers in 2003.
