Head Coach- Jenna McNallan / Assistant- Kayleen DeRusha

Coach McNallan currently teaches Health and Physical Education at Prior Lake High School. She just finished her first year as the Varsity Assistant Volleyball coach for the Lakers. Originally from Andover MN, Coach McNallan played club volleyball for Anoka Jrs, MN Premier and CVC Volleyball. At Andover, she played in the state tournament 3 out of my 4 years on varsity and competed for a state championship as a sophomore. She attended Minnesota State University Mankato where she attained a  health, physical education, and DAPE (Adapted PE) teaching licensures, as well as, played Division II Women's volleyball and graduated as a Distinguished Scholar. Coach McNallan has coached club volleyball for the past 6 years including: ARJO, MN Premier, and head coached at OMEJA (club in Mankato, ages 12's-18's) for four of those years. According to Coach McNallan: "My passion is educating young men and women on what it takes to live a healthy life and help inspire them to become successful individuals."

Coach Kayleen graduated from The University of Minnesota last May with degrees in Human Resources and Business Marketing.  She currently works as a Corporate Client and Human Resources Manager at The Brewer Group in St. Louis Park.  Originally from Savage MN, Kayleen played on the volleyball team throughout high school as well as club ball for Extreme and Club Dakota.  She coached for Club Extreme in 2012 and is very excited to get back into it! Volleyball has always been a passion for Kayleen and she is excited to use her leadership skills to help improve the overall ability and motivation of her team!


Head Coach - Erika Birkeland/ Assistant - Cassie Herubin

Coach Birkeland is excited to return to Prior Lake Extreme as a coach, after spending time as a youth learning the game in our club. Erika went on to play at Minnesota One club and our High School varsity program throughout High School before going off to play at St. Scholastica. There she was a 4 year letter winner as a setter, and was recognized for her considerable success being named All-Conference two years and All- Conference Honorable Mention for two more. Coach Birkeland also competed for the St. Scholastica track and field team for two years, so she brings a well-rounded approach to athletics. After years of coaching summer camps for PLHS, Coach Birkeland just competed her first season leading the PLHS 9B team to a 15-1 record.

Head Coach - Tim Reckmeyer / Assistant - Emily Boegeman

Emily is a fantastic asset to PL Extreme volleyball. Having played club ball at Extreme, Burnsville Thunder and Minnesota One, Emily has a vast knowledge base of different philosophies and methods. Emily finished her HS volleyball and academic career last spring at PLHS and is currently a student at Normandale Community College.


Head Coach - Susan Westerholm/ Assistants - Morgan Lemner and Grace Hallen

Susan has an extensive background in volleyball as both a player and a coach.  Her playing days date back to Division II Winona State University, where she was both a setter and outside hitter. She later became a coach for the Winona State Men's Club team, as well as Head Coach for the Women's team in 1994. Westerholm has held a variety of youth coaching positions also, to include Head Coach at Winona Cotter High School, St. Michael's (Prior Lake) 5th thru 8th grade teams, and Prior Lake's P.L.A.Y. 6th grade team. She also recently held the position of Vice President of the P.L.A.Y. volleyball program. 

Morgan is currently a Junior at PLHS and just completed a season in which she lettered for the most successful team in PLHS history. A defensive specialist by trade, Morgan has a strong understanding of defensive strategy and the mental side of the game. Morgan is currently playing at Minnesota One volleyball club and is excited for her first job as an assistant.

Head Coach - Noreen Dix / Assistant - Jeana Reed

Noreen Dix has been playing volleyball since she was in high school and still actively plays on various adult indoor and sand volleyball leagues. Noreen began her coaching career in 2008 for the P.L.A.Y. traveling program where she coached for two years at the seventh and eighth grade levels. Last year, she sent her youngest daughter off to Iowa State University, which left her as an empty-nester. With this extra time on her hands, she decided she would like to begin coaching again. Noreen served as the Head Coach of the 13-2 PL Extreme team last season and the 13-1 Traveling head coach for PLAY this past fall. She loves children and has a passion to help them succeed by teaching them the basics and fundamentals of the game. With more than 35 years of volleyball experience, Coach Dix is very passionate about volleyball and brings a wealth of knowledge to the Prior Lake Extreme Program.

Head Coach- Andrea Gates / Assistant Coach- Sydney Trees

With more than 30 years of volleyball experience, Andrea Gates brings a wealth of knowledge to the Prior Lake Extreme program.  A competitive player in high school, college (University of St. Thomas), and various adult leagues, Gates has had a lifelong passion for the sport. She began her coaching career in 2008 for the P.L.A.Y. traveling program, and has also been coaching competitively for various age groups as the head coach for Mizuno M1 including 13-Navy, 14-Navy, 15-Silver, 15-White and 16-White.  After many successful seasons she decided to retire from M1. Prior Lake Extreme brought Gates back to coaching in 2013 to lead the 13-1s team. Gates has a daughter, Izzy, who was a setter for Prior Lake High School's Varsity program.  As a coach, her goal has always been to teach the fundamentals of the game first, while at the same time sharing a love for volleyball she that she hopes her players can maintain into their adulthood.

Playing volleyball from 3rd grade to present day 11th, Sydney Trees is a multi-sport athlete who loves the atmosphere of competition. Still competitive herself with volleyball and softball, she recently ended the 2016 volleyball year while on JV for her second time and suited for varsity. Softball wise she started at 3rd her sophomore year. Sydney's desire for the game is what makes the player/person she is today. As she starts her 1st year of assistant coaching for volleyball she wants to take in everything she can. Her goal as a coach is to share this with her players and have them use it throughout life.
