Originally from Madison, WI, Coach Dean has played and coached volleyball for over 20 years. He began playing volleyball at Madison West High School and continued to play at the University Wisconsin Eau Claire Men's Club team. Throughout his playing career he has been on teams that have had success at the state and national level.
In college, Coach Dean became the JV coach at Regis High School for 3 years. After moving to Minnesota in 2001, Coach Dean became a teacher at Prior Lake High School and coached the 10th grade volleyball team. In 2002 he became the Varsity Coach at PLHS and worked to grow the game in the community. In 2002, with the help of Kristi Malmgren, he also began the Prior Lake Volleyball camp in an effort to expose more athletes to the game in the area. As the head coach at PLHS Coach Dean has won two conference championships, over 200 matches and three Section 2AAA Coach of the Year awards (2009, 2014, 1015). Coach Dean will serve as the Financial Director of the Club.
As Director of Volleyball Operations, Wagner leads Prior Lake Extreme's efforts in coach training, practice development, communication and acts as the club's liaison to the local volleyball community. His playing experience dates back to his time as a libero and outside hitter on the St. John's University Men's Club team, and he has continued to play in local adult leagues over the years.
Wagner's coaching experience is broad. For the Prior Lake Lakers High School program, he is the current Junior Varsity Coach and also served as the Varsity Assistant from 2006 to 2012. At Prior Lake Extreme, he coached for eight years as Head Coach for various age groups (13s to 17s). Other coaching experience includes three years as South St. Paul High School Sophomore coach, two years as the Head Coach for the South St. Paul JO Volleyball program (14s team), as well as multiple seasons as a youth basketball and baseball coach for P.L.A.Y.
