Welcome back, my unconventional conventionalist!

Something new is coming.  I see you shiver with antici...

Ok so a few years back I redesigned this site on Google Sites.  I called it the 2.0 version of the site.  As we know technology is always changing and requires us to keep upgrading.  So that being said this site is almost ready for re-launching!  Within the next few weeks we'll adjust the URL to the new location.  So, keep your eyes pealed and we'll have some new goodies for you.  A new design, hopefully some Play It Again Rocky schwag, among other things.  We've been doing this Rocky thing since July of 2000.  And I've got a lot more shows to see and states to visit.  So kick back, relax, and take a load off. We'll be talking again soon.

Welcome!

Hello and welcome to Play It Again Rocky v. 2.0.  This site is intended as a source of information for fans of Richard O’Brien’s The Rocky Horror Show, who happen to be in the mid-west.  I have been a fan of The Rocky Horror Picture Show since 1990.  In July of 2000 I was lucky enough to see a production of the stage show here in Kansas City.  I found that as much as I loved the movie, the excitement of the play surpassed it by leaps and bounds.  There is just something special about knowing that at any moment someone in the show can interact with you.  We’ve had actors climb off the stage into our laps, drag us onstage to dance, and stop and applaud an unusually offensive bit of audience participation.

I started the original incarnation of this site many years ago as an outlet for the information I collected in my obsessive following of local productions.  As a photography hobbyist I had the great fortune of snapping some beautiful shots of the very first show I attended and I haven’t looked back since.  Initially I built the site using Dreamweaver to create all these convoluted and complicated menus and pages.  The design aspect took a great deal of time and finally after a couple of server crashes I gave up trying to rebuild.  Recently I have become familiar with Google Sites incredibly user friendly format and have rebuilt the site using a much cleaner look and format.  Now I am able to update a page the day that I have new content, in just a mere matter of minutes.  I am thrilled and excited to utilize contemporary technology and the convenience of social networking sites to keep people current on the latest developments.  So without further ado, please click on the sidebar and have a look around.  I hope you enjoy and look forward to adding many more shows!

UPDATE 10-21-13

Just made arrangements to see our favorite obsession in Vicksburg Mississippi and in Sidell Louisiana!  I have visited both states briefly a couple of summers ago and cannot wait to see what they do with Rocky.  It should be a great time and I think we might even get a chance to see our favorite movie while we're there.  We'll keep you posted!

UPDATE 09-28-13

Play It Again Rocky is in the final planning stages for this year’s Rocky Horror October Road Trip.  We’re hoping to add a couple of states to our list.  We may end up visiting one we've already been to.  Not 100% sure yet, but we will post as soon as we know where we are going and contact the theaters.  Can’t wait!  This is my favorite time of year!

Also didn't realize I hadn't loaded pictures from Houston and Bryan Texas.  You can now see those on the review pages for those shows.  Enjoy!

UPDATE 07-13-13

Tonight is the last performance of Egads Theater Company's production of Richard O'Brien's The Rocky Horror Show.  It has been a fantastic run and I can't wait to see the show again tonight.  Be sure to check out the show review and photos here!

It is that time of year again!  Time to start planning some road trips.  Where will we end up?  Who knows!  But hey that is half the fun right?

Recent Shows

Egads!  Theatre Company just ended their run of Richard O'Brien's The Rocky Horror Show.  I can always rely on Steven Eubank to direct a great production and this time was one of his best.  Be sure to check out some of the photos and write up!
