4th Annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. “Make a difference” Volunteer Awards

                                        The Plainsboro Human Relations Council will hold its 

                     4th Annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. “Make a difference” Volunteer Awards 

                                 on January 14th 2018 from 3:00 PM at Plainsboro Recreation and Cultural Center 

 

AWARD NOMINATION

Nominations are accepted on an ongoing basis.

AWARD ELIGIBILITY

The Plainsboro Humanitarian Award may be given to an individual or group (informal, organization, agency, educational, government employee or business) who meets the criteria below.

·         Must be a resident of Plainsboro, or actively involved in Plainsboro

·         Demonstrates excellence in volunteerism, community service, civic, social or corporate responsibility

·         Creative utilization of people, resources and opportunities

·         Role in advocating for volunteerism in local community

·         Outstanding contribution to community service efforts

·         Honorable commitment to volunteer service

·         Role in bringing the community together


AWARD CATEGORIES

·         Individual: Nominees in this category are volunteers who help build stronger communities through exceptional                                   voluntary  leadership, and have made or are making a positive difference in their community.

 

The following are the subcategories for individual category and will be awarded when deemed fit.

 

      • Emerging Leader: Nominees in this category are new volunteers who help build stronger communities through  exceptional voluntary leadership, and have made or are making a positive difference in their community. Generally, they will have volunteered for a period of no more than three years.
      • Lifelong Achievement: Nominees have demonstrated significant dedication to making a difference in their  communities by volunteering and providing leadership over the course of their life. Their                 voluntary contributions may have been made through an ongoing commitment to one organization or cause or through a variety of organizations or causes. Generally, they will have volunteered for a period of 20 years or more.
  • Youth: Nominees in this category are volunteers under the age of 18 who help build stronger communities through exceptional voluntary leadership, and have made or are making a positive difference in their community.
  • Social Innovator: Nominees in this category are not-for-profit organizations, government, education or businesses that use  innovative new ideas or use existing ideas in new ways that improve their ability to respond to social challenges to help build stronger communities.

You may make copies of the form for multiple nominations, and we also encourage you to pass this information along to any Plainsboro resident who is interested in submitting their own nominations. Nominees should have worked with the community and public, as well as other groups, in the areas as explained in each category.
