There were 8 of us traveling together, we had an amazing Guide, Pepo! We all agreed, this day with Pepo was the high light of our trip. Pepo took us to so many beautiful spots, Croatia is absolutely beautiful, Pepo knows ALL of Croatia and the history, this was definatley a 5 Star rating trip. You will not be dissapointed by booking with Pepo!

Dubrovnik turned out to be one of our favorite cities on our cruise, mostly due to the great tour with Pepo. He is interesting, funny, and full of information. He took us to a local restaurant for lunch that was fantastic. If we pass this way again, we will absolutely book Pepo again, as 1 day is not enough here.
The tour is fantastic and Pepo is a great person and a great guide. I spoke a lot with him about the war of 91 and he was a corageous guy to have fought for his country at that time so he can have such a beautiful country as Croatia is and such a jewel as Dubrovnik is. I was moved by Mostar because I remembered so well the war and the destruction of the bridge. I recommend strongly to everyone that stays in Dubrovnik to make this tour to Mostar because the landscape is breathless. Thanks Pepo!!!!

Pepo was great. Extremely informative and fun day tour that was significantly more worthwhile than a generic group tour. I would recommend him as guide without hesitation.

Even though it was raining, Pepo showed us a beautiful coastal ride to Medjugorie. He allowed us to do the things we wanted to do in Medjugorie and was prompt at picking us up at the designated time and taking us by the Apparition Hill which we could not climb due to the rain Pepo was a delight and really informative about the region to and from Dubrovnik.

Pepo was great. He was waiting for us at the wharf. He showed us the best of Dubrovnik and took us out into the country side. We had a tasty meal at a family run restaurant out in the country. We had a very pleasant day in this part of Croatia.

Pepo was everything we could have ever hoped for in a tour guide and more. He was so thoughtful and considerate of my mom, showed us as much of his beautiful country as possible in our limited time and took us to the best lunch of our whole trip. If and when we ever make it back to Dubrovnik we will certainly call on him again, and hope to spend more time discovering Croatia. Thank you again, Pepo - it was such a pleasure getting to know you, and getting to see even such a small bit of your lovely home.

It was the highlight of our trip, listening to his story, a story of great suffering and of renewal. That day the three of us could share our common desire for freedom, peace and justice throughout the world. Isn't this what travel is all about? It is an experience that we will never forget...thanks to Pepo!Lana Gilster invites you to consider volunteering for the Friends Program at Mount Olivet Home and Mount Olivet Careview Homeappreciation to Pepo.

I was just telling someone last week about spending the day with you showing us your wonderful country. In fact, the picture you took of Amanda and me overlooking Dubrovnik is my screensaver picture on computer! So I remember Dubrovnik every day. I also tell everyone to visit Croatia ! And, I still hope to return one day. I am glad to know your email is still valid, as I do want to refer people to you should they decide to visit Dubrovnik JILL HENDERSON

Dubrovnik, Croatia things to do New York Times Literally just back from Dubrovnik and used Rick Steves' Dubrovnik and Croatia & Slovenia guides while there. As one of the writers above recommends, a visit to the island of Lokrum (bring your bathing suit)is a fantastic way to spend half a day. Be sure to have lunch at the restaurant in the middle of the island... you'll be surrounded by friendly peacocks. I also recommend taking day trips (Montenegro and Mostar). I used Pepo Klaic as recommended by Rick Steves. He was informative and fun. He grew up in Dubrovnik and has many personal stories about life there (the good times and the bad - the war) that he is happy to share. Pepo's tours include visits to wonderful (non-tourist) restaurants for lunch. Ask him for lamb on the way to Mostar and you'll get a real treat! I stayed at the Hilton Imperial... very friendly and helpful staff! Go to Dubrovnik. – Barb Fiorillo, New York, NY

I hired Pepo Klaic to be my driver and tourguide. He was very highly recommended by the Rick Steves travel guide to Croatia (and Slovenia). I know Rick Steves is becoming more of a "name" in the travel guide biz. And I know he has a PBS show and something of a following (although he does pepper his books with an occasional political comment that I could live without). But whatever issues I may have with Mr. Steves, he does know how to recommend a driver and guide. Pepo is an excellent driver, able to negotiate his tour bus (bigger than a large van, but smaller than a box truck) through the one-lane roads and switchbacks in the Dubrovnik area. He's an even better tour guide, with a boatload of info

Wine tasting tours in Dubrovnik, Croatia
We are just back from 10 days in Croatia and can't speak highly enough about our day tours from Dubrovnik to Mostar and from Dubrovnik to Bay of Kotor in Montenegro with Dubrovnik tour guide Pepo Klaic. Pepo is Dubrovnik local tourguide a wealth of knowledge and so professional. We were honored to spend the day with him-Just wanted to say that Pepo Klaic was a fantastic tour guide.
We spent a delightful day trip with him as he took us to Mostar. His knowledge, easy going manner and good conversation kept our interest. He was delightful. Thank you Pepo!! Pepo Klaic Dubrovnik driver guide assessed our interests very quickly. It was food and wine, naturally, and he went out of his way to talk about the cuisines. .
Attention Book Editor: Using your Guidebook for Croatia, I took your recommendation and retained Pepo Klaic to take me and my significant other to Bosnia (one day) and Montenegro (another day), and I can’t tell you how pleased we were. Pepo is an exceptional person whose skills as a guide would be hard to match. His English is excellent, his knowledge of the area and its history is encyclopedic and his manner and demeanor couldn’t have been better. We recommend him without any reservation to all of your readers and thank you for including him in your Guidebook, as otherwise we never would have found him. All the best Jerome Gotkin
I thoroughly enjoyed the history, the scenery and the time I spent with Pepo on the tour to the Bay of Kotor.
He provided a broad insight into the everyday lives of those who call this area of Europe home, he pointed out interesting sights along the drive that appealed to my love of history and provided suggestions for a future return trip to the area. I appreciated his easy-going style and found it incredibly easy to talk with him about the area’s history and culture. By the end of the day, I felt as if I had made a Croatian friend.
I learned of Pepo from the Rick Steves “Croatia and Slovenia” guidebook
and would highly recommend his services while on holiday in the Dubrovnik area. I would book him again (if he is available, as I understand he is quite in demand during the high season). In addition to the day trip to Mostar, I booked him for round-trip airport transfers and would do so again. The more I travel, the more I come to the realization that hiring a local, private guide is much more rewarding than taking a large package/group tour, or a bus tour with commentary in 15 languages or trying to figure out everything on my own, especially as a single traveler! Private Tour guide Dubrovnik!
I'll second what's already been said here -- Pepo Klaic was a fantastic guide!
Like the poster above, I also learned about him through the Rick Steves guidebook and he definitely lived up to Rick's review. We booked Pepo for 2 day trips: (1) Montenegro day trip : He started by driving us up to the top of the mountain for the cable-car view back into the Old City. Pepo fought in the war, so shared lots of personal reflections and history about the siege -- we learned quite a bit about the city's history while he pointed out different sights from the mountain top. Incredible views. Then we drove into Montenegro to visit the Bay of Kotor. The scenery was gorgeous and the boat trip to the two islands in the Kotor Bay was especially memorable. (2) Bosnia day trip: The next day, we traveled to Mostar which has to be one of the most fascinating places we've ever been. While the main reason we hired a guide was because we didn't want to have to rent a car & try to navigate, I really think we wouldn't have gotten nearly as much out of our trip if we hadn't had Pepo's commentary. Especially in Mostar, Pepo really helped us understand the complex social, political, and economical factors that had and were continuing to shape the city. He also tried to present a fair & balanced perspective -- we appreciated his honesty and his candor. Plus, Pepo was a very nice & friendly guy. We did quite a bit of driving together and conversation always flowed nicely. I'd strongly recommend him. more informations: pepoklaic at yahoo.com
