Planter Gardens Expand to Other City Areas

posted Jun 27, 2011, 2:34 PM by George Kellar

The popularity of the two planters placed in front of Dairy Cone on Tyler Street last year led to a request for planters in other parts of the City. “We’re happy to report that Tyler, East and Center Streets will have added color this year with the redistribution of nine planters made available by the Streetscape redesign” said Dick Scialabba. He added that as additional containers become available, Pittsfield Beautiful will look for more public sites that area organizations and businesses can help plant and maintain with Pittsfield Beautiful. In addition to Dairy Cone, planters have been “adopted” by EDM Services (East St.), The Morningside Initiative and The Tyler Street Business Group.
