We are a research laboratory within the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Pittsburgh. We are dedicated to understanding the brain mechanisms involved in conditions such as anxiety and depression, and using this information to improve treatment outcome for individuals suffering from these conditions.
To measure the way the brain processes information, we utilize methods including functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging (fMRI), neuropsychological and behavioral testing, eyetracking, and pupilometry. Ultimately, we hope to use this information about the brain to match patients with the form of treatment that suits their needs best. We also test out novel treatments that are based on our understanding of how the brain functions. For more information on our ongoing studies, please see "Research Studies."
