Green Bean Casserole from Pinay In Texas Cooking Corner


  • 2 Tbsp olive oil
  • 1 medium sized white onion, diced
  • 1/2 cup sliced fresh mushrooms
  • 1 cup diced turkey sausage links
  • 2 lbs fresh green beans, washed, trimmed and cut into 2" length
  • 1 (10.75 oz.) cream of mushroom soup
  • 2 cups FRENCH'S® Original French Fried Onions
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated mild cheddar cheese
  • Kosher salt and pepper


1. In a pot, bring about 8 cups water to a boil. Add about 2 Tbsp Kosher salt and stir until dissolved. Put the green beans and cook for about 10 minutes. Drain.

2. In a skillet over medium heat, saute sausage links in olive oil for about 3 minutes. Add the onion and mushrooms. Season with 1/2 tsp salt and 1/4 tsp black pepper and saute just until the mushrooms are cooked.

3. Preheat oven to 350°F. Mix soup, milk, 1 tsp salt and 1/4 tsp pepper in a baking dish. Stir in beans and 1 cup French Fried Onions. Add the sauteed mushrooms, turkey links, Parmesan and cheddar cheese and toss until well combined.

4. Bake  for 30 minutes. Stir and then top with remaining 1 cup French fried onions. Bake for 5 minutes more. Serve warm.
