Fried Spiced Perch With Garlic Shrimps and Mushrooms from Pinay In Texas Cooking Corner


  • 1 lb perch fillet or any fish of your choice
  • 12 pcs. medium-sized shrimp, peeled
  • 1 cup button mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp dried basil
  • 1 tsp lemon pepper
  • 2 Tbsp ginger minced
  • 6 cloves garlic, minced
  • 4 Tbsp light olive oil
  • salt and pepper


1. Sprinkle fish fillet with salt, half of the paprika, half of the garlic powder, basil and lemon pepper. Let sit for at least 15 minutes.

2. In a pan over medium heat, fry perch in olive oil until cooked on both sides. Remove from pan and set aside.

3. In the same pan, saute garlic and ginger until light brown. Add mushrooms and saute until cooked. Add shrimps and saute just until they turned light pink. Add the remaining garlic powder and paprika then sprinkle with salt and pepper to suit your taste. 

4. Remove from heat. Arrange in a serving platter with the fried perch. Serve hot with rice.
