VIII Parma International School of Theoretical Physics

September 4 - 10, 2016
Parma, Italy

Decoding the Path Integral:
Resurgence, Lefschetz Thimbles
and Non-Perturbative Physics

An overview of different topics in resurgence theory is given from a physical point of view. Resurgence is well-studied in the context of quantum mechanics, where it provides explicit relations between the contributions from different saddle points. Applications in quantum field theory - both in the continuum and on the lattice - and to string theory is more recent. The main goal of this School is to bring together PhD students and young researchers with different specific interests and show how resurgence has been developed and used in various areas.
There will be about 30 hours of lectures followed by discussion and problem sessions.
