I have worked in the area of Embedded Systems, Network Synthesis and Hybrid Systems. I am currently leading the development of embedded system technologies to increase the level of autonomy of a variety of cyber-physical systems. My primary research area can be called Embedded Intelligence: A combination of rigorous design methods, emerging selected technologies from Artificial Intelligence, and pervasive and ubiquitous computing as in the Internet of Things. Embedded Intelligence spans a wide range of domains, from sensing technologies and materials to software architectures, communications, learning and decision making.
