Congratulations to our OPRF High School Mentors

PING! Mentors have been awarded one of the Oak Park River Forest Community Foundations 2018 Community Foundation Honors. The award will be presented on February 13.  We are so proud of our talented, dedicated and caring mentors who do so much for middle school PING! students.

Thank you to Mann School Student Council and Junior Girl Scout Troop 46147 for a successful fundraiser and instrument drive.

PING! salutes the students of Mann Elementary School for their compassion, caring and leadership! The Girl Scouts and Student Council decided they wanted to do something to help other kids and looked to PING!  They worked with their teachers and troop leaders to organize a band, orchestra and chorus concert, have a bake sale and organize an instrument drive.  They collected 19 instruments (to date!) and collected over $1,300 in donations and bake sale funds.  One first grader who plays violin was inspired to do her own fundraiser that contributed $50 to the total.   PING! will use this money to make needed instrument repairs, refurbish instrument donations and resupply instruments that we loan to students.

PING! often reflects on how it "takes a village" to help others in our community. These young people and their dedicated teachers and mentors at Mann School certainly reinforced that - PING! is very proud of them for stepping up and taking action to make a difference in the lives of their peers.

Thanks to John Milan - Harmonica Workshop for PING! 4th and 5th Graders
A great workshop this weekend! Under John's leadership the PING! students were playing songs on their harmonicas for their parents.
