The Wood-Fired Kiln
(fed alternately)

Slab Wood
purchased from a local sawmill, $15 for 2/3 cord. The amount seen here should fuel the kiln for two or three firings.

Fire Shot
Above 1800 F, flame appears from the chimney with each stoking. It appears this way until 2350 F is achieved.

The wood-fired kiln site is located 30 feet NW of the Studio space and is of the "Olsen Fast-Fire" variety, with a 2x3x3' stacking space.

A 16X24 kiln shelter has been constructed over the site to protect both kiln and stockpiled wood from the elements.
