There are usually at least three chances given for each proficiency. Obviously, I will give a student a different version of the proficiency quiz when he or she wishes to re-assess over that proficiency.
I will post the proficiency assignments on this page. If a student gets a score of a "4" or a "1" on their first attempt at a proficiency quiz, then the student is required to complete a proficiency assignment on that concept BEFORE re-assessing on that proficiency.
Grading by proficiency -- Each problem is graded individually. Students do not receive an 'overall' grade for each quiz, but rather a score for each National Standard that is being assessed for that quiz. I have included an attachment "proficiency grading write up" in an attempt to explain the grading by proficiency model to parents and students.
