Changing font size in Picasa

When you have a computer with a high screen resolution and a relatively small screen size, the text in Picasa can become too small.

Increase the text size of the album names

There isn't a "supported" way to change the font size of the albums, but it is possible by following these instructions:

• 1. Go in Windows start menu and search for notepad

  2. Once found, right-click the icon and choose "Run as Administrator" and choose "Yes" in the popup

  3. Choose "File"/"Open" then browse to:

     1. C:\Program Files\Google\Picasa3\Runtime (on a 32-bit Windows PC)

     2. C:\Program Files (x86)\Google\Picasa3\runtime (on a 64-bit Windows PC)

  4. Change the extension filter from "Text documents (*.txt)" to "all files (*.*)"

  5. Choose the file "constants.ui" file and click "Open"

  6. In the file, you can increase the "alist_fontsize_win" parameter to make the font size larger, for example, from 14 to 18.
