Photooogle Information
Here's the nitty gritty on the Photooogle! Photo Slideshow Google Desktop Gadget

Photooogle was designed for Windows XP.  It has not yet been tested on Windows 95, 98, 2000, 2003, Mac OS, or Linux.  Please let me know if you try it on these other systems, and what you discover.

Photooogle currently supports slideshows using .JPG, .GIF, .PNG, and .TIF images.  It does not yet support images from RSS/web feeds or Desktop Search.

Upon starting Photooogle, it will first search in My Pictures for available images, but it will search all of My Documents if none are found.  If still no pictures are discovered, it will open the Options Pane for you to specify the folders where images are located.  It will remember the folders you select.

You may add as many folders as you want, but the more images, the longer it takes Photooogle to start-up.  As with any software, "Your mileage may vary."

There are several display options available in the Options Pane.  You can change the delay between images as well as adjust fading, tilt/rotation, zooming, resizing, and other presentation options.

From the gadget's pull-down menu, you can access the Options Pane, or change the gadget's viewing aspect.  Available viewing aspects are:  Portrait (3:4), Landscape (4:3), Square (1:1), Calendar (1:2), or Gatefold (1:3).   There is no custom sizing just yet, but the available aspects should accomodate most.

You can pause, skip, blacklist (remove), or open the original image file by hovering the mouse over the image to show the tool buttons.  Double-clicking on the image will pop-up a detailed view showing you a larger copy of the image and its location.
