Ubuntu 6.06/6.10 font rendering

For better font look in ubuntu do the following:

sudo dpkg-reconfigure fontconfig

select native, then never, and finally no in 3 questions.

After that log out and log in back, remove autohinting (System->Preferences->Fonts, there choose monochrome type of autohinting) and change desktop fonts for your needs.

 You can install tahoma font and use it as desktop font with size 8

 On Ubuntu 6.10 you should use:

sudo dpkg-reconfigure fontconfig-config

instead
