Click Add/Remove from Applications menu

Click reload to refresh the list of available applications

Mark "Show unsupported applications" and "Show commercial applications"

In the search field type "dvd" and from matching results select "gstreamer extra plugins" and "xine extra plugins". Also you can choose any application of your taste, for example search for "divx" to enable watching videos encoded with divx. Click ok or apply and wait for download and install finishes.

After these procedures, you will be able to play popular types of multimedia, including dvd, mp3, avi, wma, wmv and many others.
