posted Apr 17, 2017, 5:25 AM by Ann Perrone
Troop 1719 elevated four Scouts to the rank of First Class after months of study and skill building and years of experience. A First Class Scout is expected to be competent and confident in cooking, orienteering, camping, nature study, swimming, and first aid. They are expected to show leadership, community service, personal fitness, personal safety, and be able to teach skills to others.  As First Class Scouts the four young men were also eligible to be elected by their peers to Scouting's Honor Camper Society known as the Order of the Arrow. They are expected to spend their initiation weekend at Resica Falls Scout Reservation in the spring.
