Here you will find resources for the April 11, 2012 webinar entitled "Using Complex Text in Science." This webinar examines a process for incorporating complex text into science content instruction. Cavendish middle-level teacher, Robin Bebo-Long, and Gail Hall, middle and high school science assessment coordinator at the Department of Education, have collaborated with Marty Gephart, to demonstrate a tool that can deepen student understanding of content, when used as an integrated part of a science unit. Student writing is shown to demonstrate conceptual understandings that can occur.
