Head of Product Transformation

Transformation Office

A.P. Moller - Maersk (December 2021 - to-date)

Maersk is going through a radical business model and digital transformation, taking the complexity out of the global supply chain by offering our customers easy access to truly integrated logistics across the globe. The Global Transformation Office is at the center of this transformation journey, responsible for orchestrating and accelerating this transformation by bringing technology, processes, products, data and people together to change the outcomes for our customers.

As part of the Global Transformation Office, I have been part of designing and developing the future Operation System of the enterprise, ensuring it aligns with our transformation goals and effectively supports our evolving business needs. Leading a dedicated team, I collaborate closely with key senior business stakeholders to drive and expedite vital activities essential for the company's and Product portfolio's transformation. That includes, but not limited to, defining multi-year strategic/transformational roadmaps and scoping strategic initiatives, orchestrate the annual Operating Planning (OP) process, identify and surface strategic challenges that can hamper the progress of the defined transformation roadmaps, assessing business capabilities, support the functions on further improving the cross-functional operating model (across product, process, platform and tech) and competence uplifting in Data Capability and Product Management, ensuring our teams are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to drive our transformation forward.

Quality & Enterprise Design

A.P. Moller - Maersk (March 2020 - December 2021)

In my role, I am at the forefront of developing an integrated enterprise design that weaves together processes, products, technology, data, and business capabilities across the entire Maersk Group. This design is intricately linked to the broader operating system of our enterprise, ensuring a cohesive and strategically aligned approach to our business operations.

As part of this overarching framework, I lead the charge in establishing comprehensive Product Management processes, frameworks, and compliance governance. This initiative is pivotal in empowering the commercial organizations within Maersk to create new products that are not only desirable for our customers and feasible in implementation but also demonstrate high business viability.

Integral to this process is the strategic prioritization and allocation of funding across various initiatives. This ensures that our resources are optimally deployed towards projects that align with our corporate goals and have the greatest potential for commercial success and customer satisfaction, against the company's Target Operating Model.

Principal Researcher

Nokia Research Center (June 2000 - June 2011)

I joined Nokia Research Center in year 2000. My research has been mainly in the area of the smart/digital home and ubiquitous computing domains, focusing on content/multimedia sharing and Internet technologies, in many different internal and external collaboration projects. Through my work I have been also supporting Nokia's contributions to the standardization activities of the UPnP Forum and DLNA .

Since the beginning of 2009 my research focus has been expanded towards location based services and Mobile Mixed Reality, mainly lifelogging, augmented reality and mirror worlds. I was leading the "Mixed Reality Web Service Platform (MRS-WS)" research and development, which provides the core backend infrastructure and mash-up APIs for some of Nokia's Mixed Reality applications & services. Two solutions we built with this platform are the Nokia Image Space and Nokia City Scene, while part of the research work was transferred to NAVTEQ and is powering the JourneyView web service.

My latest position was Principal Researcher in the "Mixed Reality Solutions" team of the Tampere Laboratory, located in Finland. Previous positions included: Trainee, Assistant Research Engineer, Research Engineer and Senior Researcher.

Visiting Lecturer

Department of Signal Processing, Tampere University of Technology (TUT)

In parallel to my full-time job, I have been also the course coordinator and lecturer for the course "SGN-5226: Content Sharing Technologies and Services", at Tampere University of Technology (TUT), Tampere, Finland.

This course focuses on technologies and wider aspects of Internet services in relation to content. Multimedia content, commercial and user-generated, has been driving the transformation of the web, with many popular Internet services being built around it, directly or indirectly. The objective is to provide an understanding of how such services are designed, developed, interlinked and maintained, so that the student acquires knowledge valuable for working on, or further researching, this domain. In an end-to-end manner the course covers key technologies and enablers, hands-on implementation examples, popular paradigms and use cases, as well as legal, privacy and trust issues.

The course is suitable for postgraduate studies. Successful completion gives 4cr (ECTS).
