Two places that we particularly enjoyed staying in and recommend highly:

Ross Glyn Homestay, Martinborough - a delightfully homestay with a very friendly older couple. This appears to have been turned into a hotel of the same name now. 

Uno Più, Blenheim
 - old world hospitality with an Italian accent in a luxurious setting. They don't seem to have their own website any more, but are highly rated.
