I am currently a lecturer in the School of Languages, Literacy and Translation at Universiti Sains Malaysia located in Georgetown, Penang. I obtained my PhD from the Department of Linguistics at the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa in 2019. My research interests lie in sociophonetics, language processing, language acquisition and multilingualism. The languages I work on include varieties of English, Malay, and Chinese. Currently, I teach Introduction to Linguistics, and Psycholinguistics. I also have experience teaching Phonetics.
Hailing from Georgetown, Penang, I am also a trained translator for Malaysian Malay and English. In my free time, I enjoy Brazilian Jiujitsu, boxing, and running.
