Peter's Web Site
Very General Stuff
Well my name is Peter and I come from a small town called Abingdon. Abingdon, located in Oxfordshire in England, holds claims to being potentially the longest continually inhabitited town in the United Kingdom. I am a Christian and a bit of a geek.
My hobbies include cross country cycling, long walks and playing Trombone. I play jazz mostly.
I also enjoy programming and playing games. To feed both these passions I recently bought I device called a GP2X. It is basically a device designed for emulation and homebrew games which has some nice hacking oppurtunities. Preferential programming language is mono (open source .NET framework) or possibly Ruby which is starting to impress me. I am also in the process of building a robotic snake though it is taking considerably longer than expected.
I enjoy taking photographs though I am not particularly good and have recently set up a picasa web albums account to display them (though technically all the photographs on there at the moment weren't taken by me). Have a look at the 'Photo Albums' section of the website and please do e-mail me to let me know what you think.
Personally I am currently quite into the Christian rock scene as well as classic rock. Bands which I am particularly keen on include:
I would have said Queen but that kind of goes without saying.
I became a proper Christian in the spring of 2005 when I started attending an evangelical church. It was there where I met people who were able to answer my questions and support me in the early stages of my spiritual development. I am currently working for the church while I finish off A-levels. My official title is parish assistant but I mostly do youth work.
If you are ever curious about how I came to faith please do e-mail me asking. If you are curious about what Christianity is about you could check out the Alpha Course website. The Alpha Course consists of a series of talks addressing key issues relating to the Christian faith and to give you the opportunity to learn more.
