I am an experienced workshop deliverer with a strong background in learning and development (Cert IV Workplace Training and Assessment, full-time training development specialist). My teaching experience covers Masterclasses, workshops and short courses in Australia and abroad, including at Stella Adler Theatre in Hollywood and New York Film Academy in Sydney. I have held courses at community colleges, masterclasses for festivals and events, playwriting workshops in Sydney and regional centres, and workshops for school students through my company The Monologue Project.

Running workshops is a huge passion and I love doing them. Here are some of the options I can offer:

- Short courses and weekend workshops on playwriting, novel writing, creative writing, and business skills for artists
- Masterclasses or presentations on playwriting, novel writing, creative writing, producing theatre / event management, the writing industry
- Drama workshops for high school students (see
- Monologue workshops for performers

Contact me if you'd like to discuss these or other options.

Pete Malicki's style was excellent and allowed for a free and open exchange of ideas and thoughts. His non-prescriptive style and encouragement of the diverse range of ideas submitted was commendable. And I really liked the constructive way in which he communicated his criticism and judgement of what was presented. He was also excellent at keeping everyone on track and to the point! A fine art with a group of free-thinking people. Four days well spent!

Pete spoke with incredible generosity, insight and truth, distilling years of  experience and knowledge into this terrific talk. He said it like it is. I don’t know if the audience tonight realised just how much good information Pete Malicki passed on. Thanks Pete!

Just wanted to thank you for the recent Cootamundra workshops. I learned heaps and went from thinking I wouldn't be able to write a play and seriously debating not attending the workshop even though I'd driven to Cootamundra already, to creating something I'm really pleased and proud of. I took all of your comments on board; they were fantastic.

I have worked as a publisher, fiction and non-fiction editor, literary manager, theatre producer and festival/event director. I am a fiction author and award-winning/published playwright.

I offer group and one-on-one coaching for writers from all walks of life. With extensive experience in the book and theatre industries, I have worked with close to a thousand playwrights, authors, novelists and creative writers.

Coaching is a great way of enhancing your writing ability and industry knowledge. The creative arts is one of the most competitive careers to pursue and any assistance you can get will improve your chances of success. It can be very helpful to sit down with someone and discuss ideas and techniques, or get an honest critique of your writing.

Major areas I cover include:

- Novels, plays, monologues, short fiction, non-fiction writing
- Editing
- Structure, style, tone/voice, grammar, humour, pace, characterisation, dialogue, how to generate ideas, much more

I coach from Artarmon or might be able to come to you. Contact me for more info.

Completed your manuscript or play and want to knock it into the best possible shape before submitting it to that competition/publisher/producer/agent?

The chances of success are sadly quite minimal in the writing world. Very few creative writers - even excellent ones - make a viable career from what they're doing. If you want to give yourself the best possible chance, it's worth getting your work edited.

Through my work as a freelance and commercial editor, I have worked on numerous fiction and non-fiction books. As a literary manager, playwriting teacher and consultant I've also worked on hundreds of plays.

As an editor, I can look at:

- Full manuscripts (fiction, non-fiction, other)
- Manuscript excerpts
- Plays
- Short fiction, articles, miscellaneous writing
Structure, spelling/punctuation/grammarstyle, tone/voice, humour, pace, characterisation, dialogue, flow, consistency, continuity, etc

I can review your work as a proofreader (spelling/punctuation/grammar), line editor (proofing plus sentence structure, flow, readability) or editor (a proof and line edit plus everything else, such as character, story structure, style, consistency, continuity).

Contact me and let me know what help you're after and we can work out a price.

Firstly thank you so much for the truly great workshops over the weekends. The very best I’ve ever been to. It was sheer entertainment all the time and wonderful to see how many productive people there are about.  At times it was like being in the law courts and delivering advice and sentence. The confidence that you gave to us all was a great part of the success of the exercise and I feel if there is ever another workshop everyone who attended would return for more. Once again thank you for the inspiration and critique.

It was really well facilitated by Pete. What the workshop did for me was to tweak and also add to what I had already done. It was great to have it read and critiqued in a group environment.

It was a pleasure to have you visit and the students’ performances this week have been of a higher standard thanks to your workshop. I can see that they have applied the concepts and feedback they learned in the workshop.

The Monologue Project was an invaluable experience. Pete Malicki and his actors showcased an array of performances that demonstrated immense talent and professionalism. The performances were entertaining and moving and some students are considering Pete's monologues for their HSC individual project.

Just wanted to say thank you for the workshop last night. I did learn a lot, and am truly appreciative. I wasn't sure if I wanted to get into the 10-minutes scene world, but I'm now convinced and inspired.
