Training Course

Please note that the PSC training course will not be held in 2021 due to the restrictions required to respond to the Coronavirus outbreak. For all people interested in learning to sail, please contact us later in the year about next year's course. There are also opportunities for online training. Please contact the PSC training officer for information training@perthsailingclub.org.uk

Perth Sailing Club usually runs a beginners training course in May or June. The training is administered by the Royal Yachting Association (RYA), who have a well established training scheme. The course will lead complete beginners to the Level 1 or Level 2 RYA dinghy sailing certificate. If you want to know more about the RYA certification scheme check the RYA Web site (link opens in a new window). The course is usually run over eight sessions of two to three hours each and will include both on shore instruction and practice on the water. At the end of the course, you should be able to handle a sailing boat in moderate conditions with reasonable ease and safety.

Places are limited so apply early to avoid disappointment. If you want to join us for this year's course, please complete the Course Application and Information Form (link opens in a new window) and contact our training officer at training@perthsailingclub.org.uk
